Will the Currency Widget allow my customers to checkout in their preferred currency?

This depends on the mode you're using with Geolizr:


  • Shopify Payments Mode: If your store uses Shopify Payments, Shopify supports multi-currency functionality directly, including currency selection during checkout. In this case, your customers can complete their checkout in their preferred currency.

  • JavaScript Mode or Checkout Replacement: If you're using Geolizr in JavaScript Mode or with a checkout replacement, Geolizr will not be able to adjust the currency during checkout due to Shopify restrictions. The checkout transaction amounts can only be shown in your store's operating currency, as defined in the Standards & Formats section of your Settings page.

    In this scenario, we recommend clearly informing customers in the cart that the final checkout will occur in the store’s primary currency, and any currency conversion to their local currency will be handled by their payment provider.
